When that happens, I'm using rewards I've gotten at these stores from previous transactions. So, with CVS, I'm using ECBs to pay for my items and at Rite Aid, I'm using Up Rewards to pay. These pieces of paper are as good as money at these stores.
If you're serious about couponing and saving money, I encourage you to start doing some deals that will earn you some of these rewards. In turn, you can roll them and end up coming out of pocket less and less.
Wait for a good deal to come along to get you started. For example, I've just recently started with Rite Aid. I didn't want to have to pay any money to get Up Rewards.
Then, Jackie told me about a deal going on there that would cost me NOTHING out of pocket and would earn me about $20 in Up Rewards. That was the deal I had been waiting on. Then the next week, there was a great deal on Sun Block. I used that $20 in rewards to pay for the Sun Block. But I earned back $20 more in Up Rewards from purchasing it. That is what rolling is.
So, whenever you see these deals posted where you can get started with little or no out of pocket costs, take advantage of those promotions!
I know this can all be confusing, so if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
It takes patience, time & willingness to come out of pocket every now and then. But at the same time, alot of the time these are things that you wish you could buy but don't want to spend all that money on it, that is where the rewards are rewarding! Because they (the store) basically are helping you pay for those items & turning around & giving you more, just to keep you a faithful, consistent customer....they will have their slow times where there isn't that much to get (all stores do), but if it comes down to it & I've had to do this recently, just buy the stuff that you actually NEED & enjoy the fruits of your hard work without it having to come out of your bank account! I HEART COUPONING!
ReplyDeleteYes, it definitely takes patience, but if you're diligent, you'll get the hang of it, and you won't go back! Saving money and using coupons has been awesome in the little amount of time I've been doing it. I'm able to buy brands and items that I wouldn't have bought before. If something is confusing, ask for help! We're all here to help each other.
